Appearance:
Garnets and ambers and rhubarb. No real head, just a few slightly pinkish bubbles randomly floating.
Nose:
Zing! Red ripe sour tart tannic rhubarb and sour tart berries. Plum and grape skins abound in sourness, tannins, and bitterness. Key lime zest and oils along the edges.
Palate:
I am in Love! Relatively thin mouthfeel holds nothing back as my tastebuds tingle from first loving quaff to last, grabbing middle of tongue and never letting go. Cranberries, rhubarb, raspberries, and boysenberries – tart, sour, and so deliciously unripe. Stems and skins along the sides and in the finish for some refreshing bitterness and tannins before giving way to more tart berry delights.
Final Thoughts:
It’s been a long while, too long a while since my last Haandbryggeriet beer – I had almost forgotten how fecking awesome they are. Amazing. I wish I had a whole case as to drink at least 2 or 3 a week. Seek this beer out my Beer Ambassadorites and fellow Sourheads. You will not be disappointed, and while you’re at it, seek out any other Haandbryggeriet beers you can find. Works of art I say, works of art.
